We Are Not Your Kind was recorded between November 2018 and April 2019 at EastWest Studios in Hollywood, California, a legendary facility known for its rich acoustic character. The band once again enlisted producer Greg Fidelman, who had previously engineered and mixed Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and helmed .5: The Gray Chapter . Fidelman’s deep familiarity with Slipknot’s sound helped the band push boundaries while maintaining their signature intensity. The album was mixed by “Evil” Joe Barresi, known for his work with Tool and Queens of the Stone Age.
