The film tells the true story of Christy Brown, an Irishman born with severe cerebral palsy. For years, he is dismissed by the world as intellectually disabled, capable of controlling only his left foot. In a working-class Dublin that is rough and unforgiving, Christy learns to paint and write using that single limb, revealing a brilliant, witty, and mischievous mind trapped inside an uncooperative body.
